What was the inspiration behind Holiday 18?
Mystika Jones: For Holiday we really dived into coverups and outerwear to layer on top of our studio styles to and from practice, whether you're traveling via car and just need something light or taking the train, walking or biking. Then we layered on luxury fashion details. This includes an amazing velvet story with jackets and velvet pieces that not only perform but tell you it’s a special time of year. They'll be her go-to gifts to give this season and they'll be on her holiday list.
Sapna Von Sick: We were inspired by all the tactile and visual textures this season brings. Luxurious velvets, brand-new Alosoft pieces, showstopping high-shine outerwear and lightweight two-tone mesh all help make Holiday 18 a robust and exciting season.
Alosoft is a major player this season. Tell us about the new styles!
SV: These new pieces are inspired by Alo classics with the volume turned up! The Alosoft Lush Bra has a ribbed chestband that pairs perfectly with the new High-Waist Alosoft Goddess Legging, which also has a contouring ribbed waistband. Also new this season: the Alosoft Base Bra and High-Waist Sheila Legging, both in exciting new colors that are on-trend for the season.
MJ: The High-Waist Alosoft Sheila Legging is a play on one of our best-selling leggings and utilizes colorblocked paneling in a new fun way. The new Tuscan Sun color is so beautiful and a design team favorite.
What new details or cool treatments should people know about?
MJ: We have our performance velvet, which is 4-way stretch and sweat-wicking! We also have the Flocked High-Waist Moto Legging with velvet detailing—it's a subtle and elegant version of our traditional Moto Legging. The velvet is applied to the garment in a way that minimizes the amount of seams, which makes it really smooth and comfortable.
SV: Alo graphic drawcords, oversized grommets, two-tone mesh and our luxurious velvet are all new and exciting this season.
Favorite new color from the collection?
MJ: My favorite colors are Cherry Pop and Raisin. Cherry Pop is fun and so gorgeous in our layering pieces. Raisin is rich and romantic—it has this very wearable appeal, but it still feels special.
SV: All of the colors are gorgeous—I can’t pick just one! Cherry Pop and Raisin are my favorite. Both feel ultra-street and are fun to layer with the other colors from the season.
What are the ultimate studio-to-street styles this season?
SV: The Knot Bra—it has an effortless look, but it's built with performance construction in mind. Also, the Layer Long Sleeve, which has built-in performance and comfort—ideal for going to and from practice.
MJ: This season I am in love with the Suspension Pullover. It has the perfect amount of coverage with oversized grommet details, and it comes in my favorite color of the season: Cherry Pop.
