Our new holiday collection is a feast for the eyes, with fresh silhouettes in striking new colors—like Rosewater, a beautiful soft blush—and a variety of fabrications suited for all kinds of different environments. We sat down with our head designers Mystika Jones and Sapna Von Sick to find out more about the inspiration behind holiday and their favorite pieces from the collection.
We love the color palette for this season (especially the new Rosewater color). What was the inspiration behind it?
Sapna Von Sick: We were inspired by the extreme nature of the holiday season and the beauty that it brings. This can be seen in our structured, opaque coverups as well as our soft, transparent pieces that are sprinkled throughout the line. The concept of vast proportions was another inspiration, delivering an edge to every piece. Styles that have longer lengths with a shorter sleeve as well as cropped, boxier shapes with oversized sleeves.
Mystika Jones: Rosewater is the design team's favorite color this season! We really believed in bringing a beautiful, earthy, subtle pink to the palette. It's gorgeous on all skin tones and pairs well with all the other colors in the holiday line.
What are some of your favorite pieces from this collection?
Sapna: The Ultimate Legging is such a showstopper. The delicate gradated pintucking mixed with the fabric blocking and seaming is so unique and beautiful.
The Peak Long Sleeve Top is a popular coverup with elbow cut-out detailing and a structured sleeve shape. Hood detailing makes this the perfect to/from piece during the holiday season.
The Lush High-Waist Short feels ultra-street with the longer inseam length. The mesh underlayer makes this ideal for yoga during the holiday season. It keeps you covered while staying cool.
The Amuse Long Sleeve Top is another special piece. It's an effortless coverup with a slim exaggerated sleeve length that we just love. The mesh fabrication makes this awesome to wear on its own or to layer under any of the season's outerwear.
Mystika: The jackets and coverups this season are some office favorites; they are perfect for those cool walks to your yoga class. We have different lengths for all environments—our LA Winter Jacket is nice and cozy but still a cute, cropped style that layers great with high-waisted leggings. In L.A., it usually doesn’t get too cold, so this is perfect for warmth and layering in milder climates.
The Cozy Up Jacket is amazing for chillier days and feels so good on. It's soft, warm and so flattering for a fully sherpa piece. We wear test all of our pieces, and the outerwear is an important part of the process. The team wants to make sure that you still feel and look good in heavier, loftier fabrications.
